If you are anything like me, you are always trying to find different ways to spice up some boring vegetables and love them all the more. Spicy Teriyaki Cauliflower Wings gives Cauliflower a whole new makeover. Crunch for some texture and Spicy Sweet heat for some flavor. Two of my favorite things to bring to my table.
Spicy Teriyaki Cauliflower Wings was an alternative I chose to make in place of sauced up chicken wings. I was looking to break away from eating meat for bit and was looking for more of a vegetarian option. While scoping the internet for different ideas on how to jazz up some vegetables, I came across the famous Cauliflower Wings. I was never a fan of cooked Cauliflower until I tried my hand in it. I love a challenge at creating something I don’t normally eat and turning it into something I will. Yum!!!
If you’ve ever had Cauliflower, you would know that it doesn’t have much of a strong flavor but does tend to have a mild nutty almost sweet one though. So what do I do with it? I’m a Sweet & Spicy type of girl and like my food the same way so out comes Spicy Teriyaki Cauliflower Wings. Florets smothered in a sweet and sticky sauce while delivering a crunch right out of the Air Fryer. If you don’t have an Air Fryer, no problem. These wings can be made in your oven just the same. Looking for something different than a sweet laden sauce, no problem. Create your Cauliflower Wings however you want them, your wings and your sauce. Right now.. lets create my version of Spicy Teriyaki Cauliflower Wings where nothing here is lacking in flavor or crunch.

Instructions
Cauliflower Preparation
- In a small bowl, combine Flour, Milk, Garlic Herb Seasoning & a pinch each of Salt & Black Pepper. Stir until all the ingredients are incorporated and batter is lump free.
- Place Panko Bread Crumbs in a separate bowl.
- Line a baking sheet with wax or parchment paper so that prepped Cauliflower does not stick to pan and creates easy clean up.
- Add Cauliflower Florets to batter and toss to coat. This may have to be done in sections.
- Shake off excess batter and toss into Panko Breadcrumbs until well coated. Set aside on lined baking sheets.
Air Fryer
- Preheat Air Fryer to 375°F.
- Depending on the type of Air Fryer you have, line your prepped Cauliflower Florets in the basket or shelf and air fry for 10-15 minutes being sure to turn over midway. I like to spray mine with a little cooking spray to help crisp up. Cooking time will vary on Air Fryer and how crispy you like them.
Meanwhile – Spicy Teriyaki Sauce Preparation
- Heat your sauce pot on medium drizzling Olive Oil in the bottom.
- Add minced Garlic and begin to sauté stirring continuously until becomes fragrant.
- Add Soy Sauce, Ginger, Brown Sugar, Garlic Sesame Oil, Honey, Lemon Juice, pinch of Red Pepper Flakes (depending on how spicy you want them) & 1/4 cup of Water and stir until ingredients are incorporated.
- In a small bowl, combine Cornstarch and remaining water and stir to create a slurry. Add directly to sauce pot and continue stirring.
- Sauce will thicken as it is cooked through. If sauce becomes too thick, you may add a splash more of water to thin out. Once it thickens, set aside.
Spicy Teriyaki Cauliflower Preparation
- Once the Cauliflower Florets are all Air Fried, gently place the Florets into the sauce or if you prefer, you can baste the sauce onto them.
- Place the Sauced up Florets back into the Air Fryer Basket or on shelf and Air Fry for additional 3-5 minutes to allow the sauce to cook onto the Cauliflower.
- Remove and place them onto a serving dish, garnish with Sesame Seeds and enjoy!
