I am a foodie at heart and love spending a lot of time in my kitchen creating many recipes. Not just for myself but simply because I love to see the different expressions on friends and family faces when something taste just as I anticipated. Delicious! Taking myself out of my comfort zone and trying my hand at the Baking Side of Things brings a twist to Soul Of A Cook and continues to deliver the much anticipation of a tasteful treat.
Cookies and Cakes have been my nemesis for a long time until I started to understand the love that needs to go into them. Not just following a simple recipe but actually understanding what makes them good. It’s not about the simple ingredients of Flour, Sugar, Vanilla, Chocolate Chips or any other ingredient a recipe calls for. It’s how important each ingredient is to make a perfect dessert and how well they work together. Understanding sifting flour gives a more accurate measurement. Creaming butter supports the structure and texture of a cookie or cake. Learning all the reasonings of why to use baking soda or baking powder. Overcoming intimidation when trying to decorate a perfect cake.
The Baking Side of Things are snap shots of creating my version of sweets and a finished product. Trial and error has always been a personal challenge but one I will never give up. From cookies to cakes, who needs someone else’s when you can create them yourself? You cannot learn the art of baking on the first try and I am not giving up so easily. Here’s to my journey on sharing Sweet Treats in the comfort of my home to yours. While it is not always a perfect picture, it still works for my sweet tooth. Stay tuned to Soul of a Cooks venture on the Baking Side Of Things.
