Lamb Chops & Pan Fried Potatoes brings a classy but comforting meal right in the comfort your home. You can dress it up to serve on a date night by adding a side salad, glass of wine and a decadent dessert to close out the meal. Leave out all the fancy footwork and just enjoy the simplicity of it or pair it with any of your favorite vegetables and call it a day. I like things a bit simple on my menu so Lamb Chops & Pan Fried Potatoes didn’t need all the extra fixings, it just needed soul & simplicity.

Lamb isn’t often cooked in my household but every now and then I crave something out of my ordinary. Lamb has a very distinctive flavor which some would say it is gamey while others would describe it as a robust but well balance flavor. It is one of those meats where you either like it or you don’t. In my case, I love it! With basic seasonings found in your pantry and added warmth of pan fried Potatoes, I couldn’t have asked for anything more because this my friend is pretty amazing on its own. Full of flavor with added goodness in pouring Garlic Butter right over top will have you salivating before you can actually get it on your plate and in your mouth.

Enough of me talking about it, let me introduce you to Lamb Chops & Pan Fried Potatoes where flavor is the key and simplicity is the answer.

“Meals in simplicity is just as worthy as a plate of gold, you only need to know its worth.”

  • Olive Oil

Instructions

Preparation

  • Wash, Peel & chop Potatoes into bite size pieces and place in mixing bowl. If you like the skin, you may also leave it on.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of Garlic Herb Seasoning, 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder, a drizzle of Olive Oil and a generous pinch of Salt & Pepper. Using your hand or Cooking Spoon, mix until seasonings are incorporated and Potatoes are well coated.
  • Peel and slice Onions to thin pieces or if you prefer, you may give it a chop.
  • Place Lamb Chops on cutting board being sure to pat them dry. Season both sides with 1 tablespoon of Garlic Herb Seasonings, 1 teaspoon Onion Powder, Cumin and a generous pinch of Salt & Pepper. Let it sit while seasonings infuse into the Lamb Chops.

Pan Seared Potatoes

  • Heat Pan or Skillet on medium/high.
  • Add 2 tablespoons of Butter and a drizzle of Olive Oil.
  • Once Butter melts and begins to sizzle, add sliced Onions and sauté until they begin to soften.
  • Add chopped Potatoes in an even layer and begin to pan fry them. Cover Pan with lid so that the steam with help in the cooking process. Cook for 10 minutes than carefully remove lid and stir them. Continue pan frying them for additional 10 minutes or until fork tender and browned.

Lamb Chops

  • Heat Skillet on medium/high.
  • Add a drizzle of Olive Oil and 1 tablespoon of Butter.
  • When Butter is completely melted and sizzling, gently place Lamb Chops in pan and begin searing.
  • Sear Lamb Chops for 4-6 minutes on each side depending on how you like your meat. I tend to love mine a bit on the medium side so 5 minutes or so on each side works for me. Cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of your Chops and your preference. Keep in mind that they will continue to cook even when removed from pan due to residual heat so I suggest not over cooking as it may become tough.
  • Remove Lamb Chops and place on dish to rest for a couple of minutes.
  • Lower cooking temperature to medium and in same pan, add 2 tablespoons of Butter, Minced Garlic, a sprig of fresh Rosemary and a pinch of Salt & Pepper. Using a spoon, gently stir ingredients in pan so that flavors begin to infuse with the pan drippings leftover from cooking Lamb Chops.

Plating

  • Spoon pan fried Potatoes on bottom of a dish.
  • Lay 2 Lamb Chops across top and drizzle melted Garlic Butter over Lamb Chops and Potatoes. Garnish with fresh chopped herbs if desired and enjoy.
