Smoked Meat

Smoked Turkey provides an already cooked option to use in any meal. While I extend the cooking time a bit further, it still delivers a tender morsel as if I had cooked it myself all along. I use it in anything that can use the added smoked flavor such as Beans, Greens, Soups and Stews amongst others. If you are not a fan of Turkey, there are other smoked options you may use as a substitution. If you are not a fan of smoked meats, this recipe can also be make with any meat option of your choice. Keep in mind the uncooked meat cooking time will vary and will need to be adjusted accordingly.

Stews are a bit thicker than your traditional soups. They incorporate a combination of ingredients and do really well prepared in a crockpot. Smoked Turkey, Greens & Okra Stew was just something that I put together on a whim. Using ingredients I already had on hand, the recipe delivered an exceptional flavor profile. Smokiness from the Turkey and the variety of vegetables such as Tomatoes, Onions, Okra, Kale & Garlic just infused together that was beautiful in flavor. I served this over a simple cream Cheesy Grits to try something different and it just worked. I was happy, my family was happy and now let’s make you happy. No one needs to know you never broke a sweat over this recipe. What they see does not need to be understood, only that it is delicious and was created with your love of cooking.
