Salisbury Steak Preparation
Preheat Over to 350℉
Place Ground Beef, diced Green Pepper & Onions, Garlic Herb Seasoning, Adobo, Onion Powder, Cumin, 2 tbsp Soy Sauce and Whisked Egg into a Bowl. Using your hands, mix ingredients to incorporate being sure evenly distributed.
Form mixture into 6 evenly sized patties and placed on a baking dish.*** I use a baking dish that has a rack insert so that as it bakes, the patties are not sitting in the grease. I spray the rack with nonstick spray prior to placing patties on it. Cover with foil and Bake at 350℉ for 35-40 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165℉. Cooking time will vary depending on the size of portions and oven being used.
Meanwhile - Onion Gravy
Heat Skillet on Medium/High. Drizzle with Olive Oil and place 2 tbsp of Butter into Skillet.
Once Butter is melted, add sliced Onions and begin sautéing for 10 minutes stirring periodically until Onions begin to soften and become translucent.
Create Cornstarch slurry by mixing ingredients in a small bowl.
Add a generous pinch of Salt & Pepper, Vegetable Stock, Browning Sauce, Cornstarch Slurry & remaining 1 tbsp of Soy Sauce. Stir and continuing cooking in Skillet for additional 10 minutes. Sauce will thicken as cooking process continues. Lower cooking temperature to low and allow to simmer. Stir periodically so that it will not burn. Taste to see if additional seasoning is needed.*** If sauce isn't thick enough, create another slurry and add in slowly until desired consistency is reached.
Salisbury Steak
Once Salisbury Steak is done, remove from oven. Place Salisbury Steak into the Onion Gravy being sure to spoon mixture over them. You can continue to allow them to simmer at that point or serve immediately over Mashed Potatoes and your favorite side of vegetables.*** If you are using a baking dish with no rack, you can pour gravy directly over Patties 10-15 minutes prior to finished time to allow to finish up together.
